- Participants discover that soil isn’t just “dirt”- “it’s a bustling, breathing universe! Participants dive into the secret universe beneath their feet by becoming junior soil scientists, where they prepare for the planting process, act out photosynthesis, measure sweetness with a refractometer, and taste why garden-fresh wins every time. They will build hot compost, plant living soil blankets, grow winter greens, buzz like pollinators, design native habitats, and map companion-plant friendships. Each week is hands-on magic—turn scraps into super soil, grow nutrient-packed food, and discover how healthy gardens heal us and support independent sustainability. Register for 6 weeks in a row and your child experiences the ENTIRETY of successful plant growth from start to finish! Dress for dirt; leave with wonder!
- Classes are best taken in a progression as the 6 topics represent the entire planting process. However, they can absolutely be taken as stand-alone classes as well because each topic is high interest to youth and they will have concepts from all six topics briefly touched on in each set of two classes.
